Group Sustainability & SHEQ Manager

Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Group Sustainability & SHEQ Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of sustainability, Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) initiatives across the organization. The successful candidate will ensure regulatory compliance, drive operational excellence, foster a strong safety culture, and support the achievement of the Group's sustainability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Group-wide sustainability and SHEQ strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, quality, and sustainability legislation and standards.
  • Lead risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions.
  • Monitor and report on SHEQ and sustainability performance, including key metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive environmental management programmers, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, emissions management, and resource conservation.
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility through training, coaching, and awareness programmers.
  • Manage quality management systems and ensure adherence to recognized standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 where applicable.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities, certification bodies, customers, and other stakeholders on SHEQ and sustainability matters.
  • Develop business continuity and emergency preparedness plans.
  • Provide strategic guidance to senior management on sustainability and SHEQ performance, risks, and opportunities.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Sustainability, SHEQ, Environmental Management, or Business Management will be an added advantage.
  • Professional certification in SHEQ or Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISO Lead Auditor, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 8 years' relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or group-level leadership role.
  • Sound knowledge of sustainability frameworks, SHEQ legislation, and internationally recognized management systems.
  • Proven leadership, project management, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SHEQ reporting systems.
