Senior Resource Geologist

Our client is seeking a Senior Resource Geologist to lead resource geology and estimation activities on an advanced-stage orogenic gold project. This is a senior technical role suited to a geologist with strong experience in resource modelling, estimation and reporting, with the capability to act as a Competent Person under the JORC Code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead geological interpretation, structural analysis and 3D geological modelling of orogenic gold mineralization.
  • Design, supervise and oversee QA/QC for exploration and infill drilling programmers.
  • Develop and maintain geological and grade models using industry-standard modelling software.
  • Conduct Mineral Resource estimation, including block modelling, geostatistics and grade control.
  • Act as Competent Person for Mineral Resource reporting under the JORC Code and ensure compliance with relevant AIM and ASX disclosure requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, resource statements and supporting documentation for public disclosure, feasibility studies and board reporting.
  • Lead, manage and mentor geologists, technicians and sampling teams.
  • Ensure the integrity and maintenance of geological databases.
  • Collaborate with mining engineering, metallurgy and geotechnical teams to integrate resource models into mine planning and study work.
  • Support due diligence, peer reviews and external audit processes.

Minimum Requirements

  • 10–15 years' relevant experience in resource or exploration geology, with strong exposure to orogenic gold systems.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as, or directly supporting, a Competent Person under the JORC Code or an equivalent reporting code.
  • Strong proficiency in geological modelling and resource estimation software; Leapfrog Edge experience is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of structural controls, alteration and grade continuity associated with orogenic gold mineralization.
  • Proven experience in resource estimation, model validation and Mineral Resource/Reserve reporting for feasibility-stage or operating projects.
  • Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or a related field.
  • Membership of a recognized professional body such as AusIMM, AIG or SACNASP, where required for Competent Person status.
  • Strong technical report-writing, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in remote or emerging-market environments will be advantageous.
  • Willingness to be based on or near site and travel as required.
