CREDIT FACILITY & MICROFINANCE OFFICER – HARARE

We are seeking a commercially driven Credit Facility & Microfinance Officer to support the launch and ongoing growth of an in-house credit facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the customer base, facilitating loan applications, assessing creditworthiness and managing client relationships throughout the lending cycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the acquisition of new borrowers and promote the credit facility.
• Manage loan origination, client onboarding and credit assessment processes.
• Assess borrower needs, applications and repayment capacity.
• Manage collections and follow up on outstanding repayments.
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide ongoing customer support.
• Monitor loan portfolios and identify potential credit and repayment risks.
• Conduct market research to identify opportunities and understand micro-borrower needs.
• Prepare relevant reports on lending activity, collections and portfolio performance.

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience in sales and marketing, preferably within microfinance or financial services.
• Strong understanding of microfinance and lending operations, including loan origination, credit assessment, collections and portfolio management.
• Good knowledge of the local market and the needs of micro-borrowers.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Strong commercial awareness, numerical ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to the successful launch and growth of a new credit facility.
