Procurement and Stock Officer
Location: Harare
Company Overview
An established manufacturing business producing and supplying irrigation products to the agricultural sector. The business is growing and is building capacity in its procurement and manufacturing support functions.
Role Overview
This role sits within the procurement team and supports both the Procurement Office Manager and the Manufacturing Procurement Manager. It covers day-to-day procurement administration as well as stock control and data analysis on the manufacturing side. It is a hands-on role, split between the office and the factory floor, and suits someone who is comfortable working with large data sets and engaging with people across the operation.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement administration
- Capture and maintain procurement data, including shipments, arrival times, order details and tracking
- Handle local ordering and follow up with suppliers on delivery
- Process GRVs and manage damaged goods returns
- Support international ordering, raw material drawdowns and duty payments
Stock control and manufacturing support
- Track stock levels, stock movement and stock write outs
- Plan and carry out stocktakes
- Receive manufactured product into stock
- Analyse manufacturing recipes and material usage
- Prepare and maintain BOMs and BOQs
- Analyse procurement and stock data and report findings to management
- Work with production and stores teams on the ground to resolve stock and material issues
Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Purchasing and Supply, Supply Chain, Logistics, Accounting or a related field
- At least 2 years' experience in procurement, stores or stock control
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in data capture
- Willingness to be hands on and spend time on the factory floor
- Ability to communicate and work well with people at all levels
Preferred Experience
- A polymer science, chemistry or production background, or a solid understanding of manufacturing processes
- Experience with BOMs, BOQs and recipe or material usage analysis
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to import processes and duty payments
- CIPS qualification or working towards it
