Job Description:
STORES OFFICER – MINING
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Stores Officer to manage the receipt, storage, issuing and control of mining equipment, spare parts, consumables and other materials. The successful candidate will ensure accurate inventory records, efficient stock movement and the availability of critical materials to support uninterrupted mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and record incoming stock, equipment, spare parts and consumables.
- Issue materials to authorised personnel and maintain accurate documentation.
- Maintain accurate stock records and conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate replenishment requests when required.
- Ensure proper storage, labelling and safe handling of all materials.
- Monitor stock movement and investigate discrepancies or variances.
- Maintain an organised and secure stores environment.
- Liaise with procurement, suppliers and operational teams regarding stock requirements.
- Prepare inventory reports and maintain appropriate stores documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company, health and safety, and mining industry procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Stores Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or a related field.
- At least 3 years' experience in a stores/inventory role, preferably within the mining or engineering industry.
- Knowledge of mining spares, engineering components, tools and consumables is an advantage.
- Experience using inventory management or ERP systems.
- Strong stock control, record-keeping and reconciliation skills.
- Good communication, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a demanding operational environment and maintain high levels of accuracy.
