Job Description:
MINERAL PROJECT MANAGER
We are seeking an experienced Mineral Project Manager to lead a large-scale open pit gold project through feasibility, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning, with responsibility for driving the project toward first production.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead project delivery from Definitive Feasibility Study through engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across mining, metallurgy, process engineering, geotechnical, infrastructure, and environmental work streams.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, contracts, and overall project performance.
- Oversee EPCM contractors, consultants, suppliers, procurement strategy, and major project packages.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and project governance requirements.
- Provide progress reporting to senior management, the Board, and key stakeholders.
- Lead stakeholder engagement with regulators and local communities where required.
- Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing project delivery team.
Requirements:
- 10–15 years of project management experience within mining or minerals processing.
- Background in Mining, Process, or Metallurgical Engineering with strong technical grounding.
- Proven track record delivering major capital projects on schedule and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of EPCM delivery models, contract structures, and procurement processes.
- Solid understanding of open pit mining, ore processing including comminution, gravity, CIL and flotation, and supporting infrastructure.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and project governance skills.
- Experience in remote or emerging-market environments is advantageous.
- Relevant engineering degree; project management certification is advantageous.
- Willingness to be site-based with regular travel as required.
